Description

Join Smaller Earth's Marine Conservation Research project in the Seychelles!

This internship allows you to join a research team and learn the skills required to study coral reefs and turtles in the Indian Ocean. You will work alongside a dedicated staff supervisor to ensure you maximise your placement, cultural and learning activities.
 
Our associates in Seychelles in partnership and by invitation of the Seychelles government and local NGOs, assist their priority biological study and conservation programs.

Research includes coral reef research, invertebrate surveys, whale shark migration observations, plankton sampling, turtle nesting research and water turtle surveys.

This internship will allow you to make a real difference to these important projects and gain invaluable hands on practical experience in a variety of fields including project management and team leadership.

Requirements

  • Volunteers will need to be qualified to at least PADI Open Water, or equivalent, at the start of the expedition.
  •  You must be able to pass a medical examination to prove you are physically fit to dive and be involved in expedition activities.
  • The minimum age to participate in this program is 18 years
