Description

Join the British Schools Exploring Society (BSES) as a Fundraising Intern to build your experience and skills to help to develop new sources of
income from charitable trusts and foundations with an established youth development charity.

This post is an ideal opportunity to develop fundraising skills and experience in a youth development context, and will require close liaison with other BSES staff.

Your main duties will encompass the following:

* Assisting with research into appropriate trusts and foundations to help to develop new relationships and increase the income of the charity

* Making presentations to Trustees

* Researching and writing proposals specific to the interests of a variety of trusts and foundations

* You will have the opportunity to help build new partnerships with companies through their CSR and Graduate Recruitment departments by identifying new prospects and making the approach

* Recording data and maintaining the donor/contact database

Requirements

It it essential that you be a graduate with experience of office work and research. You should have excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills, a methodical approach, working knowledge of MS Office and accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar. You should have a demonstrable passion for the outdoors. You should be outgoing and confident, flexible and a team player.

It is desirable that you have a degree in Geography/English/Mathematics. Copywriting experience and a good understanding of budgets and financial monitoring. An interest in geography and the environment would be advantageous.
